This stunning set of 3 covered bridge designs features a variety of stitching styles and even utilizes our standard embroidery and hidden appliqué techniques in different designs! Enjoy the lighter linework design in a 2-color palette, or go for the more intricate fall or winter-themed bridges for a seasonal element that looks great hung in frames, merged onto quilting projects, or embroidered onto seasonal linens.
Covered bridges were quite common in America’s earlier years. Most prevalent in the 1800s, covered bridges were an essential form of engineering that allowed local townspeople to travel safely across the water to get between neighboring cities. The covered portion of these bridges helped protect the wooden structure from the elements, like rain and snow, while also providing a quaint passageway. We designed these 3 different Seasonal Covered Bridges to highlight their beauty throughout the year! The first design (SCB1) features only two embroidery steps in the design, allowing for a simple 2 color thread palette. The lightweight embroidery style and lack of appliqués make the first design ideal for spring and summer projects. Meanwhile, the other two bridges (SCB2 and SCB3) each feature hidden appliqués to help build up the embroidered details in each scene, while vibrant thread colors and seasonal touches like snow or turning leaves are sure to enhance any decor—regardless of the time of year!
