Welcome to the latest Signature Series V: Thread Découpage! This is a very exciting release, combining a little bit of everything, from quilting to appliqué, lace embroidery, as well as collage. There are many aspects to this collection and plenty of room for creativity. Essentially, you will be creating a quilted background and then adding various styles of embroidered embellishments to create depth and dimension.

"This latest installment of the Signature Series was inspired by a collection of fine art pieces I created at Stephen Wilson Studio entitled Gypsy. I started one of the pieces by creating a rearing horse on a quilted background. Once I was finished, I decided to add dimensional elements to it with a technique I like to call “embroidery découpage. When you create a découpage, paper cut-out elements are added to other objects using a layer of paste, and when it dries, you have a new art object. Embroidery découpage is the same concept, except with depth and dimension. I added appliqués, flowers, butterflies, and other objects onto the horse.
