Stained glass has adapted to fit all forms of art; from 13th-Century Gothic installations of the Sainte-Chapelle and the Notre-Dame cathedral to contemporary works found in museums, homes, and studios. We created beautiful harmonies by layering organzas overtop bright thread colors. The organza acts like a lens, which helps create colorful illusions reminiscent of stained glass. Experiment with how the colored organzas affect the thread colors underneath.
We used radiant thread colors like neon orange, yellow, green, teal, and blue. The organza tints the thread colors underneath, creating a beautiful range of hues! A white cotton base fabric, placed behind the organza, helps to capture a sense of light. For vibrancy, opt for primary colors of red, yellow,
and blue. Secondary colors of orange, purple, and green can provide even more options! Keep in mind that darker organzas may appear desaturated when layered over the base fabric.
