Rosemaling Christmas

Rosemåling, or Rosemaling is Norwegian for “decorative painting” and it has a very distinct style that incorporates stylized flower ornamentation, scrollwork, lining and geometric elements, often in flowing patterns. The designs were traditionally painted on wood. We decided to not only create an embroidered Rosemaling collection but a Christmas one. These designs are truly unique and beautiful. There are over 20 main designs with dozens of smaller designs and variations. All of the large designs come in multiple sizes to fit most hoop sizes. These designs will look wonderful on whatever you stitch them on. For our project we stitched them on small mantle covers.
