Cowboy Hat Patch
Cowboy Hat Patch
Ain't My First Rodeo — Deluxe Design
Some hats you wear. This one you earn.
I've been chasing this look for a while — that perfectly broken-in straw cowboy hat that's seen a few too many county fairgrounds and wouldn't have it any other way. Getting it to read as straw in thread was the whole challenge, and it's where this design earns its keep. Look close at that crown and brim: the stitches wrap and coil the way real woven straw does, catching light in every direction so the whole thing has depth and dimension you can feel with your fingertips. That's not a texture I dropped on top of a shape. That's the shape, built out of stitch direction.
Then come the details I couldn't help myself on. A tooled leather band with a worn brass buckle. A "Howdy" card tucked in the ribbon with a horseshoe and a gold sheriff's star, because every good hat has a story stuck in the band. A red-and-gold feather standing tall off the crown like it's daring you to say something. And sweeping across the brim in gold script — Ain't My First Rodeo.
It's a phrase with some grit in it. It says you've been around the arena a few times, you know exactly what you're doing, and you're not the least bit rattled. Stitch it on a denim jacket, a tote, the back of a work shirt, a pillow for the guest room, a duffel headed to a barrel race. It lands everywhere.
And here's the part I'm excited about: this is a sneak peek. We're deep in a brand-new Western collection right now, and this hat is the first one out of the chute. If the current cowboy craze has its hooks in you the way it has in us around here, you're going to want to keep an eye on what's coming.
This deluxe design is free for all Anita's Studio Members. No catch — just our way of saying thanks for riding with us.

You may be wondering — why patches?
We actually sell finished patches through our sister company, Wild Threads, an accessory brand that creates charms, patches, tote bags and more, sold directly to customers and retail stores nationwide.
We wanted to bring that same experience to our Anita customers — except you have an advantage most people don't: your own embroidery machine. That means you can actually make your own! And the timing couldn't be better — personalization is the hottest segment in accessories right now.
You'll notice the downloads are priced much lower than the finished patches. Some of these designs take hours to stitch, which is why the physical patches carry a higher price tag. If you have no desire to buy the finished product, that's perfectly fine — you can always stitch your own. We just wanted you to see what we charge for the finished piece, so you can appreciate the real value of what you're downloading.
Patches are available as downloads or you can purchase the patch itself
We brought the Wild Threads Patches to you!
We brought you the Wild Threads patches already stitched up and ready to go. Or, if you're the type who'd rather make your own, we've got you covered there too. Honestly, we offer both because we only put out downloads we'd actually want to stitch ourselves.
