Often, when recovering post-operation from a mastectomy from having breast cancer, finding comfort and compassion is a big part of the recovery process. Normal activities have shifted in difficulty and, in most cases, being treated differently or being forced to stay home from social outings can be even harder emotionally. In honor of breast cancer awareness in October, we released a beautiful series of designs called the Ribbons of Hope that can be purchased exclusively on our website. Using one of the stunning survivor ribbon designs from the Ribbons of Hope Full collection, we wanted to demonstrate how to create a beautiful post-mastectomy pillow in the style of a purse that can be created using one of the ribbon designs. This stuffed “purse” pillow acts as a wonderful way to go out to church, the store, or even the movies while still having a form of cushion to hug or keep under your arm to avoid direct pressure. By concealing the pillow as a purse with a functional front pocket, you can easily toss in essentials, like a phone and wallet, while having a more put together accessory that helps serve a greater purpose: healing.
This product is a sewing pattern and does not include any machine embroidery files; we created our sample pillow purse with a design from our Mini Ribbons of Hope collection. This embroidery design is not included with this download. This design was never included in an issue of All Access.
