SUNDOWN — Medium Patch
The moment the light goes gold and everything slows down.
A half-sun sits low on the horizon in marigold and deep gold, with a flare of orange breaking underneath it where the last heat of the day burns off. Above, the sky is worked in a directional fill that climbs from deep teal to pale aqua — the stitch angle catches light differently as you turn it, so the sky actually shifts the way a real one does. Below the waterline, the field settles into still, saturated teal.
Down the center, SUNDOWN runs vertically in sand-colored thread, the letters riding straight through the sun itself. The whole thing is framed twice — a seafoam inner edge, then a denim-blue outer border that holds the piece like a window frame.
It reads as a landscape and a word at the same time, which is the point. Portrait format makes it a natural fit for a strap, a chest placement, or the vertical run of a tote panel where a horizontal patch would fight the shape.
