Vintage Seed Packet

Get ready for sowing season with Anita’s Vintage Seed Packet quilting collection! These quilt blocks feature beautifully embroidered vegetable and flower designs, reminiscent of seed packets you might pick up at the farmer’s market! Each quilt block features burlap for the folded fabric borders, just like the burlap sacks seen on a farm or in the garden. Alternate between light and dark brown burlap for a vintage look without being too matchy-matchy. When pieced together into a quilt, the light and dark burlap perfectly frame out each design. This quilt would look great with shabby chic furnishings and rustic farmhouse decor!

Since the weave of the burlap is quite open, placing a solid color underneath ensures that the quilt batting does not peek out through the holes in the burlap; we chose a solid tan cotton for this. For a crisp finish, we recommend pressing any folds with an iron after their folding stitch step, and once more after the tacking stitch.
