Quilting In-the-Hoop: Traditional Quilting with Anita

We make traditional quilting patterns easy

One of our goals at Anita is to recreate traditional quilting processes that feature timeless fold patterns but make it super easy for you all! For example, we make our own versions of traditional quilts like Drunkards Path, Jelly Roll, Missouri Star, and so many more!

3 Step folded fabric process

This easy 3-step folding method allows you to recreate almost all traditional techniques for quilting. You begin by having a placement stitch for your folded fabric. Then, you place a piece of fabric face down inside the placement stitches and allow the folding stitch to run. Lastly, you fold your fabric over the folding stitches, finger crease for a clean edge, and allow the tacking stitch to run for your folded fabric. You will then trim and repeat for the desired pattern.

Traditional Patterns

Anita Goodesign loves to create different and creative types of quilts; however, some of the best quilt patterns are often the ones that remind you of traditional quilting designs. Both large and small quilt blocks can be used together or separately to make unique quilt patterns. It is easy to combine large and small blocks. The styles of both-sized blocks vary from plain blocks to folded fabric blocks, and they are all created in the embroidery hoop! If you tried to create these design using traditional quilt piecing, it would take hours and hours to figure out all the different angles. However, we do all the hard work for you so quilting can be easy!
